Born and educated in New Orleans, Louisiana, Robert 'Bobby J' Jordan's musical interest began at the age of twelve when he had a strong desire and determination to be a drummer. Once accomplished, he joined the school band and upon graduation from high school, was awarded a music scholarship to Southern University at New Orleans.

He continued to display his talent as a percussionist with various bands. Touring with Frankie Beverly and Maze (while performing with a local band called 'Cool Enterprise'), someone noticed his outstanding vocal talent and pulled Bobby J to front stage. After leaving 'Cool Enterprise', Bobby became the "main man" with the 'Louisiana Purchase' Band. He then recorded as lead vocalist on "EVERY TIME YOU GO AWAY” under the management of radio station WYLD.

When the time presented itself, Bobby J knew it was time to move on to pursue his personal goals. By nineteen ninety, he was ready for a new beginning. Not realizing his potential and lacking confidence in his abilities, but with encouragement from many, he began the quest for his dream. This new era began with the entity 'Bobby J and Company', later changing the band's name to 'Stuff Like That', in recognition of one of his influences--Quincy Jones.

Bobby J has many talents, but his greatest desire has simply been to do what he feels he was born to do--ENTERTAIN! Over the years, he has performed on stage with countless international artists, but his greatest influences were Maurice White, Ollie Woodson, Jeffrey Osborne, Donny Hathaway, Lou Rawls, Michael McDonald and David Ruffin. Though he has encountered many obstacles, he professes his abundant blessings. He has formed amity with many musicians and currently has a wonderful supporting cast. He prays that GOD continues to grant him the strength and energy to use the voice that he was given. Whenever or wherever he performs, he gives his best to reach his objective--to brighten someone's day in song.

Recorded performances with The Temptations, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Chuck Mangione, Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle, Billy Preston, Michael Henderson, Larry Graham, Kool and the Gang, The Drifters, Pieces of A Dream, Usher, Aaron Neville, and Irma Thomas, to name a few.
